    Counselling Psychotherapy in Galway

    Elva Glynn

I have worked in the area of Social Care for many years with people with learning disabilities. I have also worked in voluntary roles with organisations such as Bodywhys and Positive Mental Health in the Mental Health sector as a group facilitator. I am also currently working in a voluntary capacity with Pieta House West. Along with my Professional Training I have also been on my own journey and with this combination I hope to support you on your journey.

I work from a Humanistic and Integrative framework. I will work with you to develop your awareness about what may be preventing you from living your life to its full potential. This is an active exploration of experience and the aims of therapy are different for each individual. I will be guided by each individual as to which approach works best for them.

An integral part to the therapy being successful is a resilient therapeutic relationship between the therapist and the client. I will work with you in a sensitive, respectful and understanding way. I offer a safe non-judgemental and confidential space in which you can explore your options. This is an exploration into what feels right for you at this time, therefore I do not offer advice. If you do not have the answers we will collaboratively look at your core beliefs and values and look at what is right for you at the moment. It is important to remember that therapy works collaboratively and we will work together throughout your therapy. Those that benefit most are people who are willing to explore themselves and the issues they are facing. Ultimately you are working on connecting with yourself as a whole person.
